Within the next 5 years I...
I have never before written a “Before I die” bucket list, really I have never written any type of bucket list at all. This is a first for me. Of course, I have set goals in my life and accomplished them. I have always wanted to just travel, anywhere; and I have done it. I wanted to get my Associates degree and I did. I wanted to transfer to SDSU and I also did it.
Now, for the next 5 years I also have some goals that I want to accomplish:
1. Travel somewhere out of America every year.
For this year, I will most likely be accomplishing it during the summer. I am planning on studying abroad in either Prague or Scotland. This of course will be my ideal scenario. Traveling and studying at the same time. But if for any reason things do not go as planned, I will go to Japan sometime before the end of the year.
2. Get an Internship or a Research Assistant position.
This goal really has to be met by this year as well. I have already applied for an Internship position and got denied. So before even applying to other internships or RA positions I think I have to take a look at my resume and maybe change one or two things. My ideal option would be to get an internship in something related to Human Resources, given that I am a psychology student but want to focus on the HR area.
3. Get my B.A. in psychology.
It has been 3 long years of community college and I am now on my second semester at SDSU. I plan on graduating May 2020. My goal is to finish my B.A. in two years which is how it should be. I do not want to waste time retaking classes, or not taking enough classes every semester.
4. Apply and attend graduate school.
Although my final goal is to get a phD, I am going to start with a M.A. in human resources. I want to take tis route because my dad is an accountant and business owner, so I want to pair with him and together build a better future for our family.
5. Be engaged or married.
I am still not sure if in 5 years I want to already be married or just engaged. What I do know is that I want to be a in a serious committed relationship, so depending on that is that I am either going to be engaged or married. If I am being realistic is probably going to be just engaged, but one can always dream right!?
6. Be dependent.
I am currently 23, full time student with no job living with my parents. With that said, I want to get my own house/apartment within the next 5 years.
All in all, my in the next-5-years bucket list is continuing doing the good work that I am currently doing to get to my ideal point in life.

Hello Karla,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your bucket list! I visited Prague last winter and it was a wonderful city and a short bus ride or train ride can get you to some really cool places like Buddha-pest. It seems that you have big dreams and that's great because anything is possible if you dream! Getting through life's challenges is a great something that we should all aim high for.
Great goals, Karla. I love you how actually think of each one as you write it, what it means, what that would look like.
